Bring the thunder

In an effort to get out of the house, because, quite truthfully, Adam and I are the only 20-somethings I know without a social life, we went to a hockey game. The Stockton Thunder are in some small almost-pro league that I do not know the name of and their arena is only about 20 minutes away. After work I picked up Cousin Shane and we all headed out to take in a local sporting event.

Immediately upon entry we saw this guy and I had to take a picture.

We actually scored some pretty sweet seats for extremely cheap.

That’s what my view looked like. But Adam and Shane’s view was more like this.

We had to take a couple of pictures because we couldn’t believe we had such sweet seats.

While we were settling into our seats we looked up and we were on the big screen!!!

Then we all won free Del Taco burritos because the Thunder scored a goal in under 60 seconds.

And then Adam caught a tshirt.

I’d say we had a pretty good time. And now we can’t go back because you really can’t beat such an awesome first experience.

Go green!

Check it, yo!

Here’s to a Savory St. Patrick’s Day!

That’s This Valley Couple’s corned beef!!

We are pros at corned beef. We’ve made it every St. Patrick’s Day for four years. Want to know the secret? Cover it in a bottle of beer. Keeps it juicy, tender, and flavorful!

Happy St. Patty’s!!

I gave in.

I sort of gave in.

I got a crock pot. It was on super sale at Target and Adam bought it.

Ugh.

Fun fact: Crock pots weird me out. You put them on the counter and plug them in and they cook food all the live long day. This is a problem for me because I don’t like the idea of leaving something to cook while I’m not home.

Adam did a test run while he was home.

When I got home it smelled like delicious corned beef.

And the house wasn’t burnt to the ground.

Guess we can keep it.

New additions

There have been a few changes around this valley house.

First of all the living room has been perked up a bit. We got a new tv stand and cupboard for our DVDs. Now you can’t see any cords or mismatched DVD covers! Also we’ve added a much needed pop of color!

We have also added a bit of color to our kitchen.

And! We’ve added a few more living things to our house! A new plant I call Pear that I’m hoping is a fiddle leaf fig tree and a goldfish I call Pearl that I won at the Almond Blossom carnival!

Unfortunately two days after I wrote this post Pearl went to fishy heaven. So Adam bought me a new fish house and new fish! Introducing Opal and Ginger.

Update (3/15/12):

Unfortunately I’m terrible at fish and Ginger and Opal are now swimming in an infinity pool in the clouds.

Update (3/23/12):

Meet Targaryen!
